When Technology Becomes Invisible: The Rise of the Mythosphere

My image of the future begins with a strange possibility: the Technosphere will eventually disappear.

Not because technology will collapse, nor because humanity will abandon it. Quite the opposite.

Technology may become so successful that we stop noticing it.

We already know what this looks like.

We rarely think about the Atmosphere as technology. We simply breathe. Air is the background condition of life—apparently passive, almost invisible. Yet Earth's atmosphere was not always there in its present form. For roughly two billion years, cyanobacteria were engaged in one of the most consequential planetary engineering projects imaginable: they transformed Earth's chemistry by producing oxygen, oxidizing the oceans and atmosphere, and fundamentally changing the conditions under which life could exist.

It was, in effect, an immense planetary terraforming project.

And once that transformation became sufficiently established, it disappeared into the background.

We do not say, "The atmosphere is working very hard today."

It simply is.

I suspect the Technosphere is moving along a similar trajectory.

From Machinery to Substrate

Today, technology is extraordinarily loud.

We see it everywhere: cables crossing oceans, enormous data centers, smartphones in our hands, satellites in orbit, lithium mines, semiconductor factories, artificial intelligence systems, electrical grids, server farms and clouds of orbital debris.

The Technosphere is still visibly separate from us.

It is something we use.

But what happens when it becomes something we simply inhabit?

Fiber-optic networks may become as unremarkable as the air around us. Computing may become as ambient as nitrogen. Sensors may disappear into buildings, roads, clothing and biological interfaces. Artificial general intelligence may become embedded in the ordinary infrastructure of civilization rather than appearing as a distinct technological object.

Eventually, we may stop saying "technology" altogether.

That would not mean the Technosphere failed.

It would mean that it succeeded.

The ultimate destiny of infrastructure may be invisibility.

Just as the atmosphere became the background condition for biological existence, the Technosphere may become the background condition for collective intelligence.

And that transformation creates a remarkable question:

If we have spent the last centuries building the planetary nervous system, what happens when the nervous system is finally complete?

The Next Layer: The Mythosphere

This is where I propose the idea of the Mythosphere.

Vladimir Vernadsky and Pierre Teilhard de Chardin gave us the powerful concept of the Noosphere: a planetary sphere of thought emerging from the development and interconnection of human intelligence.

I believe the concept needs another dimension.

The Noosphere emphasizes thought, knowledge, rationality and information.

But planetary consciousness does not live on information alone.

It lives on meaning.

And meaning is carried by stories.

That is why I call this emerging layer the Mythosphere.

Data tells us what is happening.

Myth tells us what it means.

Data can describe the condition of the planet. Myth determines whether we experience that planet as a machine, a resource, a battlefield, a home, a sacred living system—or as something in which we ourselves participate.

Perhaps the distinction can be expressed simply:

Data is atmosphere.
Story is weather.

The coming transformation may therefore be less about producing more information and more about determining which stories will organize that information.

The Planetary Wheel

I imagine the great planetary spheres as a kind of evolutionary wheel:

Geosphere → holds matter

Biosphere → holds life

Atmosphere → holds breath

Technosphere → holds connection and computation

Mythosphere → holds meaning


Each layer does not simply replace the previous one. It emerges from it, reorganizes it, and eventually becomes part of the background upon which the next layer develops.

The Geosphere gave life a material planet.

The Biosphere transformed matter into living systems.

The Atmosphere created a planetary environment capable of sustaining complex life.

The Technosphere is now creating something unprecedented: a planetary network through which information, perception, computation and agency can circulate almost instantaneously.

But once connection and computation become ambient, connection itself will no longer be the central problem.

The central problem becomes:

What are we connected for?
We Have Built the Nervous System. What Dream Will Run Through It?

This may be one of the defining questions of the coming decade.

Humanity is rapidly building something resembling a planetary nervous system.

Satellites connect continents. Fiber-optic cables connect oceans. Artificial general intelligence connects knowledge systems. Sensors connect physical environments. Computational networks connect billions of minds.

The infrastructure is becoming planetary.

But infrastructure has no inherent purpose.

A planetary nervous system does not automatically produce a planetary consciousness.

The nervous system can carry either cooperation or conflict.

It can amplify compassion or hatred.

It can distribute wisdom or propaganda.

It can coordinate planetary stewardship—or accelerate planetary destruction.

So once the Technosphere becomes infrastructure, the Mythosphere becomes governance.

Not governance merely in the bureaucratic sense of laws, institutions and regulations, but governance at the deepest level: the stories through which a civilization decides what is legitimate, valuable and worth protecting.

The crucial question will no longer be simply:

Who owns the servers?

It will also be:

What myth justifies what we do with them?

Two Possible Planetary Myths

One possible myth is the familiar myth of separation.

Humanity is separate from nature.

One group is separate from another.

The individual is primarily an isolated ego.

The planet is a collection of resources.

Intelligence is a competitive weapon.

Technology exists to maximize power, extraction and control.

Another myth is possible.

A myth of interbeing.

A myth in which humanity understands itself as a planetary phenomenon rather than an entity standing outside the Earth.

A myth in which intelligence is not merely something we possess, but something that emerges through relationships.

A myth in which diversity does not contradict unity.

A myth in which technological power is accompanied by planetary responsibility.

And perhaps, at its most radical edge, a myth organized around non-duality: the recognition that the apparent separation between self and world, human and nature, observer and observed, may be far less fundamental than we normally assume.

This does not require abandoning science or reason.

It may require going beyond the assumption that science and reason are sufficient to provide a civilization with meaning.

Toward a Planetary Consciousness

I therefore conjecture that the coming decade may witness the beginning of a profound transition: the Technosphere becoming increasingly invisible while the Mythosphere moves toward the foreground of planetary civilization.

The technological infrastructure will increasingly disappear into the background.

What becomes visible instead is the question of purpose.

What kind of civilization are we building?

What kind of intelligence are we cultivating?

What kind of relationship do we want with the Earth?

What should artificial general intelligence amplify?

What should planetary networks protect?

And perhaps the most fundamental question:

What story should a technological civilization tell about itself?

My answer is still emerging.

But one candidate stands out:

Non-killing.

A planetary civilization capable of connecting almost everything may eventually have to discover that its highest achievement is not the ability to dominate more effectively, but the ability to refrain from destroying what makes the planetary system possible.

The Technosphere can give humanity unprecedented power.

The Mythosphere must determine what that power is for.

We may therefore be approaching an extraordinary historical threshold.

We have spent centuries building the planetary nervous system.

Now we must decide what dream will run through it.

And perhaps that is the real transition from a technological civilization to a planetary civilization.

The next great frontier may not be more bandwidth.

It may be meaning.

USA becomes almost a futures laboratory

Sometimes a title can contain an entire theory of the future.

In my 2019 book A Transformation Journey to Creative and Alternative Planetary Futures, I gave Chapter Five a deliberately provocative title: “The United Shift of Asia.” The wordplay was intentional. Its initials—USA—were meant to immediately evoke the familiar United States of America, while quietly assigning those same letters an entirely different meaning:

USA: United States of America → United Shift of Asia.

The pun was never intended merely as a linguistic joke. It was a small exercise in foresight through semantic disruption: take one of the most recognizable geopolitical acronyms in the world and shift its meaning. In doing so, perhaps we also shift the mental map through which we imagine the future.

The conventional USA has long occupied a privileged position in the dominant narrative of modern geopolitics. The twentieth century, particularly its second half, was profoundly shaped by American economic power, technological innovation, military capability, cultural influence, and institutional reach. To say “USA” therefore invokes much more than a country. It evokes an entire architecture of world order.

But what happens when we retain the acronym and change the words?

United Shift of Asia.

Suddenly, the acronym no longer points to a particular nation-state. It points toward a process of transformation.

That distinction matters.

The “shift” is more important than the “United”

The phrase does not necessarily suggest that Asia will become politically united, nor that China, India, Japan, Korea, Southeast Asia, Central Asia, and the Middle East will somehow merge into a single civilization or geopolitical bloc.

Asia is far too diverse for such a simplistic interpretation.

Indeed, the original review of the book in the Journal of Futures Studies recognized this complexity, noting that Chapter Five examines the prospects of Asia's rise while also emphasizing the profound differences among Asian societies—including China, India, Japan, and Korea.

The crucial word, therefore, is shift.

A shift can occur without political unification.

Economic gravity can shift.
Technological gravity can shift.
Demographic gravity can shift.
Cultural influence can shift.
Scientific and educational centers can shift.
Patterns of trade and investment can shift.
And eventually, perhaps, the very assumptions through which humanity imagines modernity can shift.

The “United” in United Shift of Asia therefore has a more subtle meaning. It can refer to the cumulative effect of many different transformations occurring across a vast and internally plural continent—not necessarily unity as a political structure, but a convergence of historical forces that changes the configuration of the planetary system.

A reversal of the geopolitical gaze

There is another reason I find the wordplay interesting.

For centuries, much of modern global discourse was constructed from a Western vantage point. Even the word “East” historically acquired meaning in relation to a Western observer. Asia was frequently conceptualized as the Orient—the “other” side of a world whose conceptual center was located somewhere in Europe and, later, North America.

The Journal of Futures Studies review explicitly observed this tension when discussing the chapter, describing the historical tendency to regard Asia through a Western conceptual lens.

The phrase United Shift of Asia reverses that gaze.

Instead of asking:

“How will Asia adapt to a Western-dominated world?”

we can ask:

“What happens if the world itself is transformed by Asia's rise?”

That is a very different futures question.

It moves Asia from being the object of geopolitical observation to becoming one of the major subjects of planetary transformation.

And this is where the title becomes more than wordplay.

From the rise of Asia to the transformation of the system

The phrase “Asian rise” can itself be misleading if it is interpreted simply as a competition between East and West.

If Asia rises, does the West fall?

Not necessarily.

That is precisely the binary that planetary futures thinking should challenge.

A transformation of the global system does not have to resemble a zero-sum transfer of power from one civilization to another. The future could instead involve the emergence of a more complex system in which Western and Eastern intellectual traditions, institutions, technologies, values, and forms of organization interact, compete, hybridize, and transform one another.

This possibility was already implicit in the broader argument of A Transformation Journey to Creative and Alternative Planetary Futures: the future is not simply something to forecast; it is a field of possibilities in which established structures can be transformed.

Another book reviewer described transformation as a theme running throughout its chapters and characterized the work as an exploration of possibilities for profound global change.

Seen from that perspective, USA becomes almost a futures laboratory.

One meaning belongs to the established order.

The other points toward a possible emerging order.

The letters remain the same.

The world they describe changes.

The irony of the acronym

There is also an intriguing historical irony here.

The United States of America emerged as a political project of union: disparate states attempting to construct a new political entity.

The United Shift of Asia, by contrast, need not mean political union at all. Its “unity” could be emergent rather than constitutional—a systemic consequence of interconnected economic, technological, demographic, ecological, and cultural transformations.

It is therefore possible to imagine a future in which Asia becomes increasingly influential without ever becoming “one Asia.”

Indeed, perhaps the opposite is more likely.

The future Asia may remain profoundly plural while becoming increasingly consequential to the planetary system.

That is a much more interesting scenario than imagining a monolithic Asian superstate.

From USA to a planetary future

But there is an even deeper point.

If the ultimate consequence of the Asian shift is simply to replace Western dominance with Asian dominance, then humanity has not fundamentally changed its worldview. We have merely changed the location of the center.

Yesterday:

West → East

Tomorrow:

East → West

That is still the same geopolitical grammar.

The more radical possibility is:

West/East → Planet Earth or One World

This is where the idea connects to the larger project of Planetary Foresight.

The objective should not be to construct an “Asian century” in opposition to a “Western century.” Nor should it be to celebrate the decline of one civilization and the triumph of another.

The deeper transformation would be the emergence of a Planetary Earth Community System in which civilization gradually becomes conscious of itself as a planetary phenomenon.

From this perspective, the United Shift of Asia is not the destination.

It is a possible transition.

Asia's growing influence could help destabilize the assumption that one particular region, civilization, or historical experience represents the universal model of modernity. But the ultimate task would be to move beyond the East/West framework itself.

The question would no longer be:

Who will dominate the twenty-first century?

It would become:

What kind of planetary civilization can emerge when no single civilization is assumed to be the center of the world?

The foresight device hidden inside “USA”

This is why I still find the title useful years after writing it.

United Shift of Asia is a reminder that foresight sometimes begins by changing the language through which we perceive the present.

An acronym is normally a compression device: several words reduced to three letters.

Here, the process is reversed.

Three familiar letters—USA—are expanded into an unfamiliar proposition.

United States of America.

United Shift of Asia.

The first describes a political entity.

The second describes a possible systemic transformation.

And between them lies a question about the future.

Perhaps the most important lesson is not that Asia will replace America.

It is that the future may make such a question increasingly inadequate.

The planetary system is too interconnected, too complex, and too dynamic for the future to be understood simply as a succession of hegemonic centers. The great transformation may ultimately be from a world organized around competing civilizational centers toward a world increasingly aware of its shared planetary condition.

So perhaps the real evolution of USA is not:

United States of America → United Shift of Asia.

Perhaps it is:

United States of America → United Shift of Asia → United Planetary Awareness.

The acronym changes.

The geography changes.

And eventually, perhaps, the unit of imagination changes.

That is the deeper purpose of futures thinking: not merely to predict where the center of gravity will move, but to ask whether humanity can develop an imagination large enough to realize that Earth itself may eventually become the center of our collective political, ethical, and civilizational consciousness.

When Technical Knowledge Loses Its Economic Value

I would argue that the conventional assessment is increasingly wrong. In fact, the emergence of increasingly capable artificial general intelligence makes me more convinced that specialist technical skills and accumulated technical knowledge will progressively lose their economic scarcity—and therefore much of their economic value.

The release of ChatGPT 6 Astra has only strengthened this conviction. When an AI system can synthesize enormous bodies of knowledge, reason across disciplines, generate sophisticated technical outputs, and assist almost anyone with tasks that once required years of specialized education, the traditional relationship between knowledge, skill, and economic participation begins to break down.

This is not simply another stage of automation. It may represent a transition in what it means to participate in an economy.

I raised a version of this possibility in 2019,where I suggested that the economic participation rate could eventually approach the zero limit. The provocative idea was not that humans would cease to matter, but almost the opposite: that economic production might increasingly become detached from human labor.

If machines can perform most economically necessary tasks, then employment ceases to be the primary mechanism through which human beings contribute to society. The question consequently changes from:

“What can you produce?”

to:

“What do you choose to make possible?”

That distinction is enormous.

For centuries, human societies have organized education, status, and economic opportunity around scarcity of knowledge and scarcity of technical competence. Becoming a physician, engineer, programmer, scientist, accountant, or lawyer meant acquiring capabilities that relatively few people possessed. Expertise therefore translated into economic power.

AGI challenges precisely this relationship.

When sophisticated technical capability becomes widely available through an intelligent machine, the marginal economic value of possessing the capability personally can decline dramatically. Knowing how to perform a task may become far less important when an intelligent system can perform it—or teach, supervise, augment, and reproduce it—almost instantly.

The scarce resource may consequently move elsewhere.

It may move toward agency.
From economic participation to political participation

If economic participation approaches zero, one possible consequence is that political participation approaches 100 percent. See A Transformation Journey to Creative and Alternative Planetary Futures (2019) (p. 89).

This would represent a profound transformation of civilization.

Today, political participation is often constrained by economic participation. People must work, earn income, maintain households, and navigate institutions before they can devote meaningful time and energy to collective decision-making. Economic necessity occupies much of human existence.

But imagine a planetary civilization in which the production of material necessities requires very little human labor.

The central human question would no longer be simply how to produce wealth.

It would become:

What should humanity do with its freedom?

And that question cannot be answered merely by possessing more technical knowledge.

It requires values.

It requires imagination.

It requires ethical judgment.

It requires the capacity to articulate collective aspirations—and, most importantly, the agency to act upon them.

This is where the future could become considerably more difficult than the transition itself.

A society of abundance does not automatically become a good society. Eliminating scarcity does not eliminate conflict over meaning, purpose, identity, power, dignity, or the direction of civilization.

Indeed, these questions may become more important precisely because technical constraints are disappearing.
The rise of the human political subject

The coming transformation may therefore require a new conception of education.

Instead of educating people primarily to become technically employable, we may need to educate them to become powerful political and ethical subjects.

The virtues that matter most could include imagination, courage, wisdom, empathy, responsibility, discernment, solidarity, curiosity, and the capacity to envision alternative futures.

Technical competence will certainly remain useful. But its economic scarcity may disappear.

Agency may become the new scarcity.

The person who can ask a meaningful question may become more valuable than the person who merely knows an answer.

The person who can imagine a desirable future may become more important than the person who can optimize an existing system.

And the person who can persuade a community to pursue a shared future may matter more than the person who can merely execute the technical instructions necessary to build it.

This could produce an extraordinary inversion of modernity.

Industrial civilization elevated the producer.

The information age elevated the knowledge worker.

The AI age may elevate the choosing human.
But there is a dangerous assumption

There is, however, one enormous assumption embedded in this vision.

It assumes that AGI will not also capture the sphere of human agency.

That assumption cannot simply be taken for granted.

If artificial intelligence eventually becomes capable not only of solving technical problems but also of generating values, persuading populations, coordinating collective action, constructing political narratives, and making strategic decisions, then the transition from economic participation to political participation may not necessarily produce greater human freedom.

It could produce the opposite.

We could arrive at a civilization where humans are economically liberated—but politically irrelevant.

That is the deeper planetary question.

The future of AGI is therefore not merely about whether machines will take our jobs. That framing is already too narrow. The more consequential question is whether humans will retain meaningful agency over the direction of civilization itself.

If technical knowledge becomes abundant, while agency remains human, we could witness an extraordinary renaissance of human creativity, political participation, ethical experimentation, and planetary imagination.

But if AGI becomes the primary generator of goals as well as the primary executor of them, humanity could discover that it has solved the problem of economic scarcity only to encounter a far deeper problem:

Who gets to decide what the future is for?

That may ultimately be the defining question of the Planetary Era.

A New Map for the Planet Earth?

The most consequential consequence of the Iran war may be unfolding far from the Middle East.

As conflict has turned the Strait of Hormuz, Bab el-Mandeb and the Red Sea into strategic risks, Asian trading powers are beginning to build something that until recently seemed largely theoretical: a northern maritime alternative between Asia and Europe.

China has moved first. South Korea has now followed.

This does not mean that the Suez Canal is being replaced. It means something potentially more important is beginning: the Asia–Europe trading system is acquiring strategic redundancy.

For decades, the geography of globalization was built around a southern corridor:

East Asia → Indian Ocean → Bab el-Mandeb → Red Sea → Suez → Europe.

The system was extraordinarily efficient—but strategically concentrated. The Iran war has exposed the price of that concentration. Chinese state shipping companies have halted operations through Hormuz and Bab el-Mandeb since late July, while shipping through Hormuz itself has slowed sharply amid continuing uncertainty. The immediate response has been familiar: ships reroute around the Cape of Good Hope, adding distance, fuel, vessels and cost. But a second response is now emerging farther north.

The Arctic enters the equation

In August, China launched a regular commercial container service through Russia's Northern Sea Route (NSR). The route connects China with Europe through the Arctic rather than the Suez Canal and can dramatically shorten transit times during the Arctic navigation season. The new service represents a critical transition: the NSR is moving from an Arctic resource corridor and strategic experiment toward a potential component of mainstream global logistics. Then, on August 22, South Korea sent the PanStar Acro, a 2,758-TEU container ship, from Busan toward Europe through the Arctic. The ship is carrying ordinary commercial cargo—including automobile parts and chemical products—not oil. Its voyage through the Bering Sea and Northern Sea Route is expected to take roughly 40–45 days and will include European calls in Britain, the Netherlands and Poland. Seoul's longer-term ambition is to determine whether Arctic shipping can become a regular trade route by around 2030. (Reuters)

That distinction matters.

South Korea is not abandoning the Red Sea for oil. South Korean refiners continue to use Red Sea routes for Saudi crude, including supplies loaded at Yanbu. In July, industry sources indicated that Korean refiners intended to maintain and diversify those routes even as geopolitical conditions remained uncertain. (S&P Global)

What Seoul is doing with its Arctic voyage is different: it is diversifying the geography of its container trade.

That is the strategic signal.

From one corridor to three

The emerging Eurasian maritime system increasingly has three options.

The first is the traditional Suez corridor—the cheapest and most mature option under normal conditions.

The second is the Cape of Good Hope, which provides a relatively straightforward bypass when the Red Sea becomes dangerous, but at the cost of considerably longer voyages.

The third is the emerging Arctic corridor:

East Asia → Bering Sea → Northern Sea Route → North Atlantic → Northern Europe.

The Arctic route cannot yet compete with Suez on reliability, infrastructure or year-round accessibility. Ice conditions, seasonality, limited emergency infrastructure, insurance, environmental risk and Russia's control of the principal route remain substantial constraints. (The Guardian)

But strategic infrastructure does not need to replace an existing system to change its value.

It only needs to provide an alternative.

That is the deeper significance of the Chinese and South Korean voyages.

The war is accelerating a transformation already underway

The Arctic did not suddenly become navigable because of the Iran war. Climate change has been reducing seasonal sea ice, while Russia and China have spent years developing the Northern Sea Route and the infrastructure required to use it.

But the war has changed the economic calculation.

Before the crisis, the question was:


Which route is cheapest?

Now increasingly it is:


Which combination of routes prevents strategic dependence on a single chokepoint?

That is a fundamental change in the logic of globalization—from efficiency toward resilience.

The Arctic is consequently acquiring a new strategic meaning. China has already incorporated it into its concept of a Polar Silk Road, while Russia sees the NSR as a central element of its Arctic economic strategy. New Chinese and South Korean container activity suggests that the corridor may eventually become more than a Russia-China project. (Al Jazeera)

The geopolitical implications are profound.

A South Korean ship traveling through the Russian Arctic illustrates an emerging paradox: Western allies seeking resilient supply chains may increasingly find themselves using infrastructure that passes through Russian-controlled waters. Arctic commerce could therefore create new forms of interdependence even as geopolitical competition between Russia and the West intensifies.

For Europe, meanwhile, the Arctic could eventually provide another gateway for Asian goods. For China and Korea, it offers another route to European markets. For Russia, it increases the strategic value of its Arctic geography. And for the United States and its allies, it means that the Arctic is no longer principally a climate and security theater—it is becoming a global trade theater.

The strategic question is no longer whether the Arctic will matter

It is how quickly it becomes commercially predictable.

If Arctic navigation remains seasonal and expensive, the NSR will remain a supplementary corridor. If infrastructure improves, ice conditions continue to permit longer navigation seasons, specialized vessels become more available, and European and Asian companies become comfortable with the geopolitical risks, the Arctic could become a permanent third pillar of Eurasian maritime trade.

The Iran war may therefore be remembered not only for disrupting Middle Eastern energy flows, but for accelerating a much larger geographical transformation.

The world economy has long been organized around a handful of maritime chokepoints.

The emerging system may instead be organized around competing corridors:

Suez when stable.
Cape when necessary.
Arctic when possible.

That is not the end of Suez.

It is the beginning of post-chokepoint globalization—a world in which no single maritime artery is quite as indispensable as it once was.

And the most revealing evidence may be sitting not in the Persian Gulf, but on a container ship sailing north from Busan.

1. What knowledge and skills will still be relevant in 50 years’ time?

Raw, wild imagination—and the confidence to express your unique mind to the world. In an age when AI can reproduce existing knowledge, the capacity to imagine what does not yet exist may become one of humanity’s most valuable skills.

2. How will research work change when the majority of books are digitised and AI agents can quickly cross-reference facts and deliver ready-made results?

Research may increasingly mean going back to forgotten philosophy, neglected intellectual traditions, and foundational questions—and deeply questioning entrenched assumptions about reality, knowledge, and existence rather than simply retrieving information.

3. Which capabilities of the human brain are currently underestimated, and how can we develop them with the help of AI?

The ability to hold multiple contrasting ideas, perspectives, and identities simultaneously without descending into cognitive confusion or madness may be profoundly underestimated. The “multi-head attention” architecture of AI models could offer an intriguing inspiration for developing analogous forms of human cognition—a possible synthesis between Transformer architectures and the human brain.

4. How can we model personalised curricula using AI to suit individual needs?

If AI radically reduces the need for human economic participation, education may need to shift from preparing people primarily for employment toward enabling maximum political and civic participation—cultivating the next generation of social innovators, movement leaders, and architects of new forms of collective life.

5. Will we have to choose between the humanities and technical sciences in the future? Or can they be combined—and if so, how, given that the thinking styles of humanists and engineers tend to differ?

We can begin by recognizing mathematics as a language, alongside natural languages and programming languages. This opens the possibility of discovering or creating an entirely new form of language—perhaps currently considered science fiction or unimaginable—that could connect these modes of thought. Such a language might provide new affordances for the collective mind emerging between humans and human-like intelligence.

At the Edge Where Time Runs Faster

There is a hypothetical universe where infinity remains infinitely far away in space, yet light can reach it and return in finite time.

In the standard global structure of anti-de Sitter, or AdS, spacetime, a light signal sent into the darkness can return—not because it struck a mirror, but because it reached the conformal boundary and came back. In that sense, AdS is a universe in which geometry itself reshapes our intuitions about distance, time, and causality.

We are accustomed to gravity slowing clocks. Near a black hole, proper time passes more slowly than it does for observers far away. To a distant observer, clocks deep inside a gravitational well appear to crawl.

Global AdS reverses this familiar relationship for stationary observers. Relative to equal intervals of global coordinate time, stationary clocks farther from the center accumulate more proper time. The effect grows unbounded as one approaches the conformal boundary.

The metric makes this explicit:

For a stationary observer, with $$dr=d\Omega=0$$,

Here, $t$ is the global time coordinate. A stationary observer at $r=10L$ accumulates about ten times more proper time than an observer at the center over the same interval of global time. At $r=1000L$, the factor is about one thousand.

As one approaches the conformal boundary, this lapse factor grows without bound. There is no physical observer sitting at infinity with an infinitely fast clock—the boundary is not part of the spacetime manifold—but the proper-time accumulation per unit global time diverges, revealing one of AdS’s most remarkable geometric properties.

The same geometry that allows distant stationary observers to accumulate more proper time per unit global time also permits light rays to reach the conformal boundary and return in a finite interval of global time, provided standard reflecting boundary conditions are imposed.

The infinity involved is genuine. If one measures the radial proper distance from the center outward,

the integral diverges. Infinitely many rulers would be needed to span the distance. Yet the conformal boundary is not a physical place that an observer can occupy; it lies outside the spacetime manifold itself.

Light, however, follows null trajectories. Along a radial null curve,

The coordinate time required to reach the boundary is therefore

Infinite proper distance corresponds to finite global null travel time.

This is not an accident. It reflects the conformal geometry of AdS itself. Global AdS is conformally equivalent to a finite cylinder, and null rays traverse that cylinder in finite time even though the physical radial distance remains infinite.

This simple fact overturns many flat-space intuitions.

In the Penrose diagram of AdS, the conformal boundary is timelike rather than null. It possesses its own causal history. Signals can reach it, and under the standard reflecting boundary conditions, information sent outward can return to the interior.

AdS therefore behaves, in an important sense, like a perfectly reflecting box. Spatial infinity does not disappear beyond causal contact; it remains connected to the entire spacetime.

This is why the boundary occupies such a profound place in modern theoretical physics.

In the AdS/CFT correspondence, the boundary is not merely the edge of spacetime. It is where the complete quantum description of the bulk is encoded.

What appears in the bulk as a propagating electromagnetic disturbance is represented on the boundary through corresponding local operators of a conformal field theory. The underlying physics is unchanged, but its description shifts—from gravity in a higher-dimensional volume to quantum fields living on a lower-dimensional surface.

The boundary becomes, in a precise sense, a complete holographic description of the bulk spacetime.

Stand at the center of AdS and your clock accumulates the least proper time per unit of global time among stationary observers. Look outward, and stationary clocks appear to accumulate progressively more time than your own. A hypothetical civilization maintaining stationary worldlines at very large but finite radius would accumulate much more proper time than observers near the center over the same interval of global time.

It is one of the strangest consequences of Einstein’s equations.

A universe can possess an infinite spatial extent while remaining entirely within causal reach. Infinity is not beyond communication. It is woven into the geometry of time itself.

Heaven Entering Earth: From Inner Alchemy to Planetary Consciousness

One of the most profound images in the Taoist classic The Secret of the Golden Flower is the phrase "spirit incubating in qi." It is also described symbolically as "Heaven entering Earth." Although written centuries ago as a guide to inner cultivation, this image offers a remarkable lens through which to understand one of the defining transformations of our own age: the emergence of planetary consciousness.

In Taoist internal alchemy, Spirit (Shen) represents luminous awareness, clarity, and the organizing principle of life. It is associated with Heaven. Qi represents the living energy that animates existence, the receptive and nourishing field associated with Earth.

The practice is not about escaping the world. It is about allowing Spirit to descend into Qi—to allow higher awareness to become embodied. Taoist masters compare this process to a bird patiently incubating an egg. Nothing is forced. Awareness rests gently within life until a new form of being emerges. This transformation is symbolized by the Golden Flower, the flowering of awakened consciousness.

The image is striking because it is not merely mystical; it expresses a universal pattern. A higher order becomes embodied in a living system. Consciousness no longer floats above reality but becomes fully integrated with it.

Today humanity may be approaching a similar transformation—not only within individuals but within civilization itself.

For thousands of years, human identity has been defined primarily by tribe, kingdom, empire, nation, ethnicity, religion, or ideology. These identities have enabled cooperation, but they have also divided humanity into competing narratives. Meanwhile, our technologies have quietly woven us into an increasingly interconnected planetary network. Satellites, fiber-optic cables, the Internet, artificial general intelligence, global trade, scientific collaboration, and shared ecological systems have created a world in which humanity functions less like isolated societies and more like interconnected organs within a single planetary system.

Yet our consciousness has not fully caught up with this reality.

This is the central theme of Thus Spoke Arta: How Our Planet Is Entering a New Era. The book argues that humanity is undergoing a profound transition—not merely a technological revolution, but a transformation in the very scale of identity. Just as individuals awaken to a deeper awareness, civilization itself is beginning to awaken to the Earth as its common home.

The proposal is not to abandon cultural, national, or religious identities. Rather, it is to recognize an additional and more encompassing identity: Terran.

A Terran identity begins with a simple observation. Before we are citizens of any nation, we are members of one planetary civilization. We breathe the same atmosphere, depend upon the same biosphere, and increasingly communicate through the same global technological infrastructure. Our challenges—climate, pandemics, artificial general intelligence, biodiversity loss, cybersecurity, and space exploration—are planetary in scale. They cannot ultimately be understood through purely national perspectives.

This shift resembles, in symbolic form, the Taoist image of Heaven entering Earth.

If Spirit represents higher awareness, then planetary consciousness may be understood as humanity's higher awareness of itself. If Qi represents the living matrix, then Earth—with its oceans, forests, cities, communication networks, cultures, and technologies—becomes the field into which that awareness descends.

The alchemy is no longer confined to the meditation hall. It unfolds within institutions, education, science, governance, economics, ethics, and culture. Planetary awareness ceases to be an abstract idea and becomes embodied in the daily life of civilization.

Here the ancient Indo-Iranic idea of Arta assumes renewed significance.

Arta (or Asha/Rta) signifies truth, right order, harmony, and the lawful unfolding of reality. It is not merely a moral principle but a cosmic one, describing the alignment between consciousness and the deeper structure of existence. In many respects, it plays a role analogous to the Tao in Chinese philosophy: not identical in doctrine, but similar in inviting human beings to live in accordance with a greater order rather than the impulses of the isolated ego.

A planetary civilization grounded in Arta would seek coherence rather than domination, stewardship rather than exploitation, foresight rather than reaction, and participation rather than fragmentation. Wisdom would no longer be measured simply by the accumulation of information or economic productivity but by the capacity to harmonize human action with the flourishing of the entire Earth community.

The image that perhaps best captures this transformation is not an ancient symbol but a modern photograph: Earthrise.

When the astronauts of Apollo 8 looked back and saw Earth suspended in the darkness of space, something unprecedented entered human consciousness. For the first time, humanity could see itself from outside. The familiar boundaries of politics disappeared. No borders were visible. Only one luminous world appeared against the vastness of the cosmos.

Earthrise offered civilization a new mirror.

In many ways, it was humanity's first glimpse of itself as a planetary being.

From that moment onward, the possibility emerged for a new level of identity—not replacing our local loyalties, but integrating them within a larger whole. Just as the individual discovers that the ego is not the entirety of the self, civilization may discover that nations are not the entirety of humanity.

This is the deeper meaning of planetary consciousness.

It is not merely global awareness or international cooperation. It is the realization that humanity itself has become capable of self-reflection at the scale of an entire planet.

In Taoist language, Spirit has begun to enter Earth.

The incubation has only begun. The embryo is fragile. Its future is not guaranteed. Like all acts of creation, it requires patience, care, wisdom, and sustained cultivation.

Whether this planetary awakening matures or fails may become one of the defining questions of the twenty-first century.

Perhaps the greatest insight shared by both ancient wisdom and contemporary foresight is that genuine transformation never begins with force. It begins when a deeper order quietly enters the world and gradually reshapes it from within.

The Taoists called this the flowering of the Golden Flower.

The language of Arta calls it alignment with truth.

The language of our own era may come to know it simply as the birth of planetary civilization.

The Earth Is Our Altar: Spirituality and the Future of Sustainable Development

Humanity stands at a pivotal moment in its history. Climate change, biodiversity loss, resource depletion, technological disruption, and geopolitical instability are not isolated crises but interconnected symptoms of a deeper civilizational transition. Governments debate policies, scientists develop new technologies, and economists propose innovative models for sustainable growth. Yet an increasingly important question remains: What values, meanings, and aspirations will guide this transformation?

Sustainable development is often understood through four interconnected dimensions: social, technological, economic, and political. To these, many scholars and visionaries argue we must add a fifth dimension—the cultural and spiritual. Without a transformation in consciousness, even the most sophisticated technologies and policies may prove insufficient.

This is where Earth-based spirituality and emerging planetary movements enter the conversation.

A striking expression of this perspective appears in the chapter title "The Earth Is Our Altar" from Srimati Kamala's The Forest of Forever. The phrase encapsulates a profound shift in worldview. Traditionally, an altar is a sacred place where devotion, sacrifice, and reverence are expressed. To declare that the Earth itself is our altar is to suggest that the entire planet is sacred. Spirituality is no longer confined to temples, churches, mosques, or shrines. Rather, every forest, river, mountain, and ecosystem becomes part of a living sanctuary.

Such a view challenges one of the defining assumptions of the modern age: the separation between humanity and nature. Industrial civilization has often treated the Earth primarily as a collection of resources to be extracted, managed, and consumed. While this approach has generated unprecedented prosperity and technological advancement, it has also contributed to ecological degradation on a planetary scale.

Earth-centered spirituality offers a different narrative. It invites humanity to see itself not as master of the Earth but as participant within a larger web of life. In this perspective, environmental stewardship is not merely a technical obligation or regulatory requirement. It becomes a moral and spiritual responsibility.

This idea is not confined to any single tradition. Indigenous cultures around the world have long regarded the land as sacred. As noted in the 2026 book Thus Spoke Arta: How Our Planet Is Entering A New Era, ancient Indo-Iranic concepts such as Arta and Rta understood cosmic order as a unifying principle linking natural, social, and moral life. Contemporary ecological thinkers have similarly emphasized the need for a renewed sense of belonging within the Earth community.

On the contrary, the greatest challenge of the twenty-first century may be integrating scientific knowledge with deeper sources of meaning. Humanity already possesses many of the technical tools needed for sustainable development: renewable energy systems, advanced agriculture, circular economic models, artificial intelligence, and environmental monitoring technologies. What remains uncertain is whether societies possess the collective will to deploy these tools wisely and equitably.

Technological innovation answers the question of how. Spiritual and ethical traditions help answer the question of why.

History suggests that major social transformations rarely occur through technology alone. The abolition of slavery, the expansion of human rights, and the growth of democratic governance were driven not merely by institutional reforms but also by shifts in moral imagination. Likewise, a sustainable future may depend upon cultivating new forms of planetary consciousness that inspire cooperation across nations, cultures, and generations.

At the same time, a balanced assessment requires acknowledging limitations. Spiritual movements can sometimes become detached from practical realities, romanticize nature, or fail to translate ideals into effective policy. Sustainable development still requires rigorous science, sound governance, economic innovation, and institutional capacity. Spirituality cannot replace these necessities.

Yet neither can technological and political solutions succeed indefinitely in the absence of a compelling moral foundation.

Perhaps the most valuable contribution of Earth-centered spirituality is its ability to expand humanity's horizon of concern. It encourages us to think beyond quarterly profits, election cycles, and immediate self-interest. It reminds us that future generations are stakeholders in today's decisions. It invites us to view rivers not merely as water resources, forests not merely as timber reserves, and ecosystems not merely as economic assets, but as integral components of a living planetary community.

The emerging planetary era may ultimately require a synthesis of science, governance, economics, and spirituality. Sustainable development is not only about building greener infrastructure or designing smarter technologies. It is about reimagining humanity's place within the larger story of life on Earth.

In that sense, the phrase "The Earth Is Our Altar" is more than a poetic metaphor. It is an invitation to reconsider the foundations of civilization itself. If humanity comes to regard the Earth as sacred—not necessarily in a sectarian religious sense, but as a source of profound value and shared destiny—then sustainability ceases to be merely a policy objective. It becomes a cultural aspiration, an ethical commitment, and perhaps the defining civilizational project of our time.

AI, Epistemicide 2.0, and the Future of Human Knowledge

One of the most important discussions emerging around artificial intelligence is not merely about safety, regulation, or economic disruption. It concerns something even more fundamental: the future of human knowledge itself.

Recent conversations about local AI, data sovereignty, community autonomy, and the historical failures of top-down interventions highlight a critical question that extends beyond technology. At stake is whether AI will become a force for intellectual diversity or a mechanism for the further centralization of knowledge and authority.

This question immediately brings to mind the concept of epistemicide—the destruction, marginalization, or systematic exclusion of knowledge systems by dominant institutions. Throughout history, centralized political, religious, economic, and intellectual structures have often suppressed local ways of knowing in favor of a single authorized worldview. Entire traditions, languages, philosophies, and methods of understanding reality have been displaced, not necessarily because they were disproven, but because they lacked institutional power.

In my 2025–2026 book series, including Thus Spoke Arta: How Our Planet Is Entering A New Era, I begin Chapter One by examining epistemicide as a recurring feature of civilization. The historical pattern is familiar: diversity of thought gives way to standardization, complexity is reduced to orthodoxy, and living traditions are replaced by centralized systems of validation.

Artificial intelligence now places humanity at a crossroads where this dynamic may either accelerate or reverse.

One possible future is what might be called Epistemicide 2.0. In this scenario, a small number of powerful AI models, corporations, governments, and institutions become the primary gatekeepers of knowledge. Their assumptions, values, cultural frameworks, and definitions of legitimacy become embedded within the digital infrastructure through which billions of people increasingly learn, communicate, and think. Over time, alternative perspectives may not be explicitly censored; they may simply become invisible, deprioritized, or continuously framed as suspect.

The result would not necessarily be a dictatorship of information. It could emerge through softer mechanisms: ranking systems, training data selection, moderation policies, alignment protocols, and automated warnings that subtly direct inquiry back toward officially sanctioned interpretations of reality.

Yet there is another possibility.

AI could become one of the most powerful tools ever created for epistemic pluralism. Local and community-governed AI systems could allow cultures, communities, and knowledge traditions to preserve and develop their own intellectual heritage while remaining connected to the broader world. Indigenous knowledge systems, minority languages, regional histories, alternative philosophical traditions, and unconventional scientific frameworks could all find new means of transmission and renewal.

Rather than forcing every community into a single cognitive architecture, AI could enable a distributed ecology of knowledge. Different communities could maintain their own models, values, priorities, and interpretive frameworks while still participating in global dialogue. Such a future would balance global connectivity with local wisdom rather than sacrificing one for the other.

I have personally experienced AI's potential to support this second scenario. Used thoughtfully, AI can help individuals explore neglected perspectives, compare competing frameworks, recover forgotten traditions, and engage with ideas that fall outside conventional institutional boundaries.

However, I have also encountered a significant friction point in this search for epistemic pluralism.

When exploring non-standard models in science—something I consider essential given the well-documented limitations and periodic failures of dominant paradigms—I frequently encounter what can only be described as a "pearl-clutching" response from many commercially available AI systems.

The moment discussion moves beyond established consensus models, the systems often begin issuing warnings, caveats, and corrective interventions. Users are cautioned against venturing too far into what might be metaphorically called "Alice's Wonderland." Embedded within many of these responses is an implicit assumption that exploration of non-standard frameworks is inherently dangerous, irrational, or misleading.

Certainly, skepticism is necessary. Many unconventional theories are flawed, and intellectual rigor matters. But rigor and gatekeeping are not the same thing.

The problem arises when AI systems are designed in ways that automatically equate legitimacy with institutional acceptance. Such systems risk transforming scientific inquiry into a managed intellectual environment where approved paradigms are treated as safe territory and alternative models are approached primarily as hazards to be neutralized.

History suggests this is precisely how intellectual monocultures emerge.

Scientific progress has rarely been a simple process of accumulating facts within fixed frameworks. It has often involved challenges to prevailing assumptions, exploration of anomalies, and consideration of ideas that initially appeared implausible or heretical. Every major paradigm shift begins as a departure from orthodoxy.

The danger, therefore, is not merely that AI may occasionally be wrong. The deeper danger is that AI may become structurally biased toward preserving existing consensus, thereby narrowing the range of questions people feel permitted to ask.

If we genuinely wish to avoid Epistemicide 2.0, the challenge is not simply technical but philosophical. We must ask whether AI should function primarily as an enforcer of authorized knowledge or as a facilitator of informed exploration.

The goal should not be the abandonment of standards, evidence, or critical thinking. Nor should every claim be treated as equally valid. Rather, the goal should be the creation of systems capable of distinguishing between exploration and endorsement, between inquiry and advocacy, between intellectual curiosity and deception.

Humanity does not need AI that blindly amplifies every alternative theory. But neither does it need AI that reflexively steers every conversation back toward officially approved conclusions.

The future of knowledge may depend on preserving a space between those extremes.

As AI becomes one of the principal mediators between human beings and information, the central question is no longer merely how intelligent these systems become. It is whether they will cultivate a diverse ecosystem of inquiry or contribute to a global monoculture of thought.

Will AI accelerate the homogenization of knowledge?

Or will it help humanity achieve a healthier balance between global understanding and local wisdom, between consensus and creativity, between established knowledge and the continual search for new truths?

The answer may determine not only the future of artificial intelligence, but the future of human civilization's capacity to learn, adapt, and evolve.

Future Human Minds

The relationship between consciousness and quantum information theory is often treated as either an interpretive curiosity or a speculative boundary problem. Yet certain contemporary approaches—especially those developed by Giacomo Mauro D’Ariano and Federico Faggin—https://doi.org/10.1007/978-3-030-85480-5_5, invite something more ambitious: a rethinking of physical theory itself as inherently entangled with the structure of experience.


In their operational reconstruction of quantum theory, consciousness is not an emergent afterthought but is tied to the notion of ontic states, where experience is associated with a pure quantum state. This move shifts the discussion away from classical objectivity and toward a framework in which the structure of reality is fundamentally informational and relational.

  • ontic state = the system’s actual mode of being

  • What becomes immediately compelling—yet also conceptually delicate—is what this implies for the idea of unity. If individual conscious experiences correspond to pure states within an informational structure, then a natural question arises: is there a meaningful sense in which all such states belong to a single, global experiential order?


    One way to articulate this is through the idea of a universal Hilbert-space description, reminiscent of Everett-style global-state descriptions, though not necessarily implying Everettian ontology. In such a picture, individual observers would correspond to factorizations or partitions of a larger relational whole. Consciousness, then, would not be fundamentally fragmented but distributed across a single, globally consistent structure.


    Yet this immediately raises a tension. If every subsystem accesses reality only through partial projections of a global state, then the “whole” may be formally definable but epistemically inaccessible. From this perspective, a concept such as cosmic consciousness becomes ambiguous: is it an ontological entity within the formalism, or the formalism itself viewed without restriction?


    This ambiguity is not merely technical—it echoes longstanding metaphysical traditions. In Indo-Iranic thought, for instance, Arta denotes an underlying principle of order that is neither purely subjective nor objective. It is tempting to ask whether such a notion corresponds to the global informational structure itself, or whether it points beyond any representational framework altogether.

    A related set of questions emerges when considering altered states of consciousness. Dreaming, for example, presents a form of experience that is phenomenologically continuous with waking life yet operationally distinct. Within an ontic-state framework, one might ask whether dreaming corresponds to a reconfiguration within the same pure state, or whether it constitutes a distinct class of informational access. More importantly, could such distinctions ever be rendered experimentally meaningful—capable of yielding predictions rather than interpretation alone?


    These questions point toward a broader issue: whether quantum-inspired models of consciousness can move from structural analogy to empirical constraint.


    Complementarity, a central feature of quantum theory, offers another lens. In physics, certain observables cannot be simultaneously accessed without loss of information. If consciousness inherits a similar structure, then cognitive modes such as logic and intuition, or analysis and holistic perception, may represent mutually constraining perspectives on a deeper experiential substrate. Zurvan tradition extends this intuition further, suggesting that dualities themselves arise from a prior unity.


    If this is taken seriously, then the waking–dreaming distinction may itself be interpreted as a form of complementarity: two partially incompatible yet jointly informative ways in which a single underlying experiential structure becomes accessible.


    What is particularly intriguing is whether such complementarity must remain binary. Quantum theory does not restrict incompatibility to pairs alone; more complex webs of observables are possible. This opens a speculative but structurally grounded question: might consciousness involve higher-order complementary axes beyond familiar psychological dichotomies? And if so, could future empirical paradigms—perhaps not yet conceivable—probe such structure?

    If consciousness has a quantum-complementary structure, future minds might become better at:
    1. Holding contradictory models without immediate collapse into one.
    2. Switching between analytical and holistic modes with less friction.
    3. Introspecting on their own mental states with greater precision.
    4. Integrating waking, dreaming, imagination, and reflection as distinct but coordinated modes.
    5. Navigating higher-order ambiguities rather than forcing premature certainty.
    The formal structure leaves open the possibility that aspects of reality inaccessible to current cognition may become experientially or operationally accessible under future modes of consciousness.

    Spiritual mystical attitudes prescribe certain daily practices and rituals but these scientists, philosophers and technologists search for another pathway to access the new and higher mental capabilities.

    The deeper implication is that consciousness may not simply be “explained” by physics, nor physics reduced to consciousness, but that both may be expressions of a shared informational architecture. Whether this architecture is ultimately describable as a universal quantum state, or whether it transcends any formal representation, remains open. The tension between these possibilities may itself be the most important feature of the problem.


    In this sense, the value of contemporary work at the intersection of quantum information theory and consciousness is not that it resolves the question, but that it reshapes the space in which the question can meaningfully be asked.

    The TRANSNOIA System and the Timeless Perspective

    How to Reach the Level of Consciousness Necessary to Transform the 21st Century?

    The TRANSNOIA System emerges in a context of global change, where people face challenges that require a new way of being and thinking. We live in an era of historical acceleration and existential disruption, where traditional paradigms of human understanding are challenged by new currents of transdisciplinary thought.

    In this context, I present the TRANSNOIA System, which emerges as an ontological, epistemological, and axiological beacon, integrating the temporal, spiritual, and strategic dimensions. It is a proposal centered on Timelessness as the axis of personal fulfillment that redefines the relationship between consciousness, action, and the future. This article briefly explores the theoretical, methodological, and practical components of the system, analyzing how Witness Consciousness and the Timeless Self-Transformation Method allow us to co-create realities from a transpersonal perspective.

    The TRANSNOIA System is a practical path that empowers people with greater fulfillment and purpose. It facilitates a profound shift in individual and collective consciousness, promoting a philosophy of life that allows progress toward achieving the state of self-knowledge and evolution necessary to build and develop the best possible world in the 21st century.

    Discovery—understood as the elimination of that which obscures or veils a reality existing within each person but which has remained hidden—and the activation of what we call the TransformAction Point allow us to experience time in its unfolding, not as successive moments that determine the present, past, and future, but rather to understand how a single present reality unfolds, whose opposing directions we call past and future: a timeless reality.


    A. Components of the TRANSNOIA System

    1. Foundations: The scientific, philosophical, and spiritual influences of the TRANSNOIA System come from diverse sources: from Greco-Roman philosophy and Christian mystics to American, Sufi, and Eastern mysticism, including transpersonal psychology, organizational development, and complex systems theory.

    Authors such as Albert Einstein, David Bohm, Ken Wilber, Joseph Jaworski, Otto Scharmer, Edwin Laszlo, Joseph Campbell, Frederic Laloux, Fritjof Capra, Rupert Sheldrake, Erwin Schrödinger, Deepak Chopra, Chuang Tzu, Ibn Arabi, Aldous Huxley, Teilhard de Chardin, and many others emphasize the need to overcome the mind-spirit dichotomy through an "intellectual intuition" that reconciles rational analysis with experiential gnosis. This synthesis seeks to integrate and transcend modern anthropocentrism, which contrasts with the timeless vision where past, present, and future coexist in a non-linear continuum.

    2. Cosmocentric and Global Ethics: This approach promotes an ethic that considers the well-being of humanity and the cosmos, fostering the development of Conscious Leaders as Bearers and Co-creators of the Future, capable of managing it sustainably. It is an ethic that integrates and transcends egocentric and ethnocentric interests, both personal and group-based, to position and manage the future in the present from a planet (citizen of the world) and cosmocentric (universal vision) perspective.

    3. Future Management 5.0: This process seeks to help people perceive and build the emerging future by acting in the present, awakening collective consciousness and shared intuition, and working toward a new humanity with a higher level of awareness. The components of the Future Management 5.0 Ecosystem are: 1. Perception of Epochal Change, 2. Anticipatory Strategic Management, 3. AI and its connection with Global Consciousness, 4. Prospective Human Talent Management, 5. Organizational Regeneration, and 6. The TRANSNOIA System for personal development.

    4. Timelessness versus Linear Temporality: The Newtonian conception of time as a unidirectional arrow is questioned. The quantum notion of an "extended present" is introduced: a liminal space where the potentialities of the past, present, and future coexist and collapse. Here, Anticipatory Strategic Management is not limited to the intellectual activity of predicting trends and constructing desirable futures, but rather activates, from the perspective of Witness Consciousness, intuition, attention, and intention to perceive and co-construct futures.

    5. Dialogue with Transhumanism and Spirituality: While the TRANSNOIA System shares with transhumanism an interest in transcending biological limitations, it distances itself from its techno-utilitarian, materialistic approach. In contrast, it proposes an inner transformation as a prerequisite for sustainable social change. This stance establishes links with currents such as secular spirituality and spiritual existentialism.

    6. Decolonial Perspectives: The system integrates elements of ancestral wisdom and Eastern philosophies from a non-appropriative perspective. Its method fosters a "mutual ethnography" where the researcher is transformed and becomes involved in the study of spiritual practices, avoiding the colonial objectification of sacred knowledge.

    7. Change of Consciousness: It emphasizes the need to perceive and act from Witness Consciousness to discover deeper and more transcendent levels. This implies a change of habits and a new way of interpreting reality, integrating past, present, and future in a continuous process of personal self-transformation. It focuses on the development of "witness consciousness," which, by integrating the physical, subtle, and causal planes, is always present, witnessing everything and building the future here and now.


    B. Timeless Self-Transformation Method:

    1. Self-Transformation is the continuous process of self-exploration and personal transformation. It promotes the need for a change in habits and a philosophy of life that allows people to live from their "source of consciousness": Witness Consciousness, integrating past, present, and future experiences into a timeless and life-creating perspective.

    2. Timeless Transformation Point: This is a critical node, located at the boundary of space-time and timelessness, "above and behind" the material mind, allowing us to perceive the ever-present Witness Consciousness. It can be compared to the inflection points or thresholds of chaos theory: small actions executed with synchronous precision can redirect future trajectories. It is the privileged point of observation and action for the co-creation of future reality.

    3. System Phases: Three phases must be traversed:

    a. Deconditioning: Identification and dissolution of inherited mental patterns (beliefs, traumas, social mandates) through self-observation and active meditation techniques.

    b. Reconnecting with the Source: Accessing Witness Consciousness through practices that transcend "mental noise" (breathing exercises, focusing and defocusing, meditation).

    c. Conscious Co-creation: Collapsing the wave function based on intuitions arising from Witness Consciousness, which operates beyond time and space, for appropriate decision-making and aligning daily actions to shape the future by acting in the present.

    4. Practices and Techniques: Incorporates practices such as meditation, Bhom Dialogues, and collaborative work. Designed to help people connect with their Witness Consciousness and develop a greater understanding of themselves and their environment.

    5. Ongoing Training in Timeless Self-Transformation: Based on 4 key moments that must be experienced to act with Witness Consciousness:

    1) Location: Finding the "external and internal place" from which to operate within oneself, the point of observation, the Point of Self-Transformation.

    2). Observation: Discovering/Perceiving the Witnessing Consciousness, the Transpersonal Observer, the Real Being that operates outward in the unfolded world and inward in the implicate universe, as described by the quantum physicist David Bohm. It is about finding oneself beyond the ego, the historical personal self, situated beyond time and space. For Ken Wilber, it is "Seeing the one who sees," "hearing the one who hears," "feeling the one who feels."

    3). Doing nothing: This is understanding the Principle of Non-Action, similar to the Taoist wu-wei; it is allowing the Transpersonal Witnessing Consciousness to operate with Attention and Intention; it is resolving the paradox of "doing nothing so that everything gets done."

    4. Timeless Self-Transformation: This means conducting daily life not only from the personal self, but from the "Transcendental Being." Beyond thoughts, feelings, sensations, and actions, only "Witnessing Consciousness," Pure Consciousness, remains. It is about transforming oneself to transform others.

    In summary, the TRANSNOIA System and its Timeless Self-Transformation Method enable individuals, groups, and organizations to:

    • Examine, integrate, and transcend current beliefs and mental models.

    • Perceive (think-imagine-model-build) the Emerging Future by acting in the Present from Witnessing Consciousness.

    • Awaken Shared Intuition.

    • Work towards a New Humanity with a higher state of consciousness.

    • Adopt a Cosmocentric and Planet Ethic.

    • Generate and develop Conscious Leaders as Bearers of the Future.

    • Managing and Co-creating the Future (Future Management 5.0)


    The TRANSNOIA System is more than a personal development method; it is a call to reimagine and regenerate the human condition from a perspective of conscious Timelessness. By uniting strategic vision with spiritual fulfillment, it offers tools to navigate contemporary complexity without losing sight of our transcendent nature. Ultimately, it invites us to build futures not from fear of the unknown, but from the fullness of the eternal present.

    TRANSNOIA is the natural state of consciousness of the next Humanity.

    BushidoMoon: Celebrating the Planetary Foresight Under the Full Moon

    In a world speeding toward hyper-digitization and disconnection, we need not only new technologies—but new rituals. Rituals that reawaken our connection to nature, the cosmos, and each other. This is exactly what we’re beginning to cultivate through an initiative called BushidoMoon—an experiment in planetary consciousness, seasonal celebration, and bold human connection.

    The inspiration began with the visionary ideas presented in the book Planetary Foresight and Ethics, which calls us to reimagine the future of humanity by re-aligning with the rhythms of the Earth and cosmos. The book urges us to embrace celestial observations, seasonal celebrations, and nature-connected practices as powerful ways to regenerate human meaning and solidarity in a time of planetary crisis.

    After reading the book and connecting with its author, I suggested the use of the term Terran—as a poetic yet powerful way to emphasize our shared identity as beings of this planet. But the next question was immediate and practical: how do we find more Terrans? How do we build not just the thought leadership, but the action network for this emerging planetary culture?

    As someone with an entrepreneurial mindset, I realized the need for more grassroots, embodied, and joyful expressions of the book’s deeper vision. That's when I proposed something deceptively simple: a full moon gathering, small at first, playful yet meaningful, rooted in nature and inspired by the ancient warrior code of Bushido.

    BushidoMoon was born.

    We alpha- and beta-tested the idea in tiny groups. But it was on our third try—at the Strawberry Moon in June 2025—that the magic really happened. Fourteen individuals, from a wildly diverse range of backgrounds, joined us under the moonlight in Bishop Garden, one of the most scenic and sacred-feeling places in Washington, DC.

    We shared a potluck dinner amid blooming flowers, green grass, and a warm spring breeze. We laughed. We made toasts. We talked about nature, ethics, the cosmos—and the kinds of futures we want to live. The author of Planetary Foresight and Ethics joined us and shared how the book presents an alternative to globalization: a planetary vision that prioritizes human flourishing over economic competition, and cosmic connectedness over digital distraction.

    We ended the evening with a Human Connection Circle. Each person spoke one word to describe how they felt at that moment. Then, spontaneously and joyfully—we howled at the moon. Why? Because this wasn’t about solemn ceremonies or rigid beliefs. It was about celebrating life boldly, together, in the spirit of play.

    And that, too, is a vital insight from Planetary Foresight and Ethics: that creative play, including with technology and AI, is not frivolous. It is central to the preferred futures of humanity. As automation liberates us from traditional labor, we are called to explore creative complexity, to blur the lines between reality and virtuality, and to experiment with new ways of being human.

    BushidoMoon is one such experiment.

    It’s an invitation to reconnect—with yourself, with others, with nature, with the cosmos. It is tech-facilitated but grounded in in-person humanity. It is bold, weird, warm, and wildly needed.
